My name is Maya Oğuz, I was born in 2002 in Istanbul, and I am currently a BA first-year student in Painting and Visual Arts at NABA (Nuova Academia Di Belle Arti) in Rome. I graduated from “ENKA Schools” in Istanbul. I used to have an interest in street art, but since I started my studies, I explore other fields as much as possible to increase my knowledge in contemporary creativity as well as my practice. I started to get an interest in art in 2015 and attended the Summer School “The Kubert School” in New Jersey, USA. I took coloring, illustration, and character design lessons. In September 2016. I was chosen to exhibit at "Büyükada Anadolu Club.” This led me to attend ICAF (Istanbul Comics and Art Fest), and for two years there, I was the youngest to benefit from a stand. At the beginning of the same year, my comic was nominated as one of the top 45 among 1003 and placed 5th at “The Fumetto International Comics Festival and Competition.” Later, in 2017, I collaborated with “Büyükada Cultural Foundation” to hold workshops for kids. After years of gathering experiences to find my way, my interest shifted to street art in a broader sense. I mainly focused on custom designs, graffiti work, and backgrounds for video clips. A few months ago, I started to design streetwear clothes and created a small business named “Mayox Street Wear” (https:// www.mayox-street-wear.com/) based in Istanbul. I worked with "exhibitor relations" team for the "Contemporary Istanbul 17th and 18th edition" in the years of 2022 and 2023. Later on, I had the opportunity to work as a gallery assistant for "ÖKTEM AYKUT GALLERY" at "Artissima Art Fair". In 2023 May I opened my second Solo Exhibition, "THE EXPERIENCE," in Level Art Gallery/ Rome.  I am today looking for opportunities to extend my experiences in the art world.
